Forth of July Portland Trip

The summer is flying by and Vivi took her first trip to Portland!

Man i tell you, you learn that having a baby takes a lot of your time cause instead of the usual 3 hour packing for Manny and I it usually takes me, this time it took 8 hours. Getting Vivi's bag ready, yes she had her own suitcase, I didn't even have my own and packing for Manny and I while playing with Vivi, feeding her, rocking her, and in between all that trying to get the familia ready for the trip. I was pooped at the end of the evening.

Friday Afternoon we were off to Burbank to say hello to Rae whom was very kind to park our car at her place!! We had so much stuff but were lucky that we would be stayin at Tara and Dave's house who have a little 7th month old baby. Beatrix, which meant we didn't have to bring a lot of baby stuff (crib, bouncer, swing).. thank you!!!

I bought a used stroller for the trip so I wouldn't have to worry about the airlines breaking it, you never know cause they throw stuff around. It worked great but to Manny's liking he hated it. I admit it was big and bulky unlike our simple on we have now. When it came time to go through security Manny and I had no idea how to do it with all the baby stuff. Thank gosh we were at Burbank and we could take our time going through security. We learned you have to put everything through the x-ray machine.. I think we just might check in the stroller next time...

As we were waiting for the plane we stopped in the bar for a drink and had a great time talking to the bartender. He was full of stories!!

Then the time came we both had been waiting for all our lives and no MVP card was needed. We got to board the air plane first. Yay for Vivi.. We get to do that till she is about three.. which we just might have another one before then and get to use the pre-boarding for a while. Having kids sometimes makes your life easy.

Then we arrived in Portland.. Vivi did great on the plane, she slept the whole way. Sara-T came from the river to pick us up!! I loved the fact that she came from the river, I knew I was somewhere other than California!! We went and got some pizza while Manny set up his speakers (He was so proud of the set-up)

Friday night came and Manny and Mike went to the Goodfoot while his new wife Jovanna came and hung out with Vivi and I. It was so nice to have someone to hang with.. then the boys came home with the best Burritos i have ever had, wait we are not in California and I am having the best burrito?.. Go figure...

Saturday was Forth of July and Manny and I went shopping. We stopped in the Sanrio store and bought Vivi a Hello Kitty Hat. Manny also got a new Iphone which he wasn't allowed to open till Sunday, or he would have been on it every second like he is now. He just found a Pizza Hut Application, how I don't know. Later that night we enjoyed a bbq at Jason Brown's house with his family, it was fun time and the fire works ended our night!

Sunday Vivi met many of Manny's friends. We stopped by to see Joe and Keiko and their coffee shop and then were off to meet Jake and his family. There baby girl Quinn was so cute!!!

Monday and Tuesday Manny had to work with his boss in Portland so I stayed and hung out at the house. Monday night we headed out to The Kenndy School where Laura also got to meet Vivi and where Manny and I had dinner with some friends. Jevon and George as well as Missy and Josh came to enjoy good food and beers with us!! IT was great to see them and for them to meet Vivi!! Monday night Manny went to pick up Tara, Dave, and Beatrix. Vivi woke up right when every one came home and the two babies got to meet each other!!

Tuesday afternoon we headed back to the airport and checked in to find out Alaska now has you pay to check in bags, what a bummer. We payed the fee after trying to get out of it and were ready to get back home. Vivi fell asleep right before the flight and then woke up on the plane to enjoy looking at the lights for a hour.

We all had a great time!
