Family Trip to Washington DC and Nags Head, NC

What perfect timing to have a family vacation and my cousin was getting married so we headed to the east coast to spend a couple days in Washington DC then to a family wedding.

We flew from LAX, which is not our favorite but we made it and got on the plane with no stress. Vivi did such a great job on the plane. When the gentleman sat down next to us I could see his eyes roll, like oh man I have to sit next to a baby... but I informed him that she was a great baby. When we landed he said I thought you were lying about your baby, but she was great.

When we arrived in DC we got the best greeting anyone could ask for, and if anyone out there hired her to welcome us to DC, thank you!! She got on the bus and started to argue with the bus driver about nonsense and when it was time to get off to pick up the car, they were like best friends.. it was great!!

We then picked up our rental car, which was a hybrid, and it came with an infant seat. I was so happy I didn't have to bring ours across country! When we put the key in the engine it took Manny a little to figure out how to start the car.. we had a good laugh.. hybrids are tricky cars.

After we arrived at the hotel Manny went to get us food in Dupont Circle, which is the area we were staying. He surprised me with something I had never had before.. Emplandas.. if you have never had them before they were so yummy.

They next day was filled with sightseeing and Ethiopian food. It was rainy and cold and windy and I loved every minute of it!

We then ended our day with wonderful Ethiopian Food and Beer! Yummy! I wish Vivi could have tried it.

The next day just before we left to get on the road to Nags Head we stopped at the Textile Museum, which was such a great find!! Unfortunately we were off by a day because the next day they were having a Japanese Fashion Exhibit Opening, but we had a chance to peak.

We then headed to Nags head to see the family. The drive was so full of red, yellow, and orange leafs.. i miss fall so much!

Once we got there my sister and Will met Vivi for the first time. We then enjoyed good times, good food and wine.

The next day we all decided to head to the aquarium where Vivi saw floating pigs and sharks. We then took pictures on the green screen as a family.

Then it was time to met Poppi and Grammy and introduce them to Manny and Vivi.. I am so proud of my family and I couldn't wait to introduce them to Poppi and Grammy. It was a precious moment seeing Grammy and Poppi hold Vivi. We then met the rest of the family, whom I hadn't seen in 8 years and enjoyed good food and yes I did it folks, I sang keioka , but no one in my family was there to witness it and i will never to it again.

Then next day was the wedding and we all had a great time.

Then back to DC to fly back home but not to mention a few stops in a couple towns on the way back.

It was a great family vacation.
