Manny and I enjoyed another Christmas celebration with his family in Palm Springs. There was wonderful food, writing letters to Santa, and making ginger bread houses.
After discovering gingerbread house kits this year I had to buy them... I knew Crystal and Jessica would enjoy making them and it was an excuse for me to get really excited about making them as well.. I have to admit the ginger bread houses were for me...but the girls made the best houses i could ever have. I just love Christmas stuff.
In the Mexican culture la familias open presents at midnight, which is the smartest idea EVER. Presents were shared and smiles were all around. Manny and I got some great gifts, thank you all.
I also got a chance to experience a Mexican tradition that was really interesting and full of tradition. It was called a Posadas and we were fortunate to be invited to one. There were about 150 people that came together to celebrate Christmas eve together and to enjoy great food. I enjoyed a corn meal traditional drink.
(Posadas take place on the nine days preceding Christmas. From the 16th to the 24th processions reenact Mary and Joseph's search for shelter in Bethlehem. These processions lead to a different house every night for the culmination of the posada - a fiesta.
AND TINA...
